We are currently looking for adequate candidates to fill the position of ACCOUNTANT II (Contract of Service). For candidates who reside in Makati City and its surrounding areas, we are looking forward to hearing from you to join our team at Employees' Compensation Commission - Government and willing to work in our office under contract working hours system.

We can give you a fairly competitive salary in the amount of ₱31,000 - ₱31,000 on average. It also can be modified based on the credibility and experience you can provide for our business in accordance with our company HRD agreement.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
ACCOUNTING PROFICIENCY (Advance)
Ability to demonstrate a proficient level of professional skill and/or knowledge in accounting and keep current with general (government) accounting trends, practices, taxation laws, rules and regulations. Monitors expenditures and resources to ensure spending is within allotments, and makes appropriate modifications.
- a) Institutionalizes processes/systems to ensure integrity of data relative to accounting practices in ECC and prevailing regulations in the field/profession
- b) Keeps abreast of accounting practices, changes in general presentation, taxation, COA regulations, procedures, processes, and general laws
- c) Influences compliance with accounting rules and regulations to ensure fair presentation of the financial statement
- d) Institutionalizes financial accounting systems and processes in response to emerging developments
GOVERNMENT AND DEPARTMENTAL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES (Advance)
Ability to understand and apply knowledge of government and departmental statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- a) Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of related statutes, regulations, policies and procedures affecting ECC
- b) Ensures work conforms to statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures and is completed within established timeframes
COMPUTER LITERACY (Advance)
Ability to demonstrate understanding of computers and use of software applications utilized by the Commission to increase productivity and effective flow of work.
- a) Uses and creates databases and performs basic database operations such as editing records, creating new database, setting field attributes, using pivot table, etc.
- b) Shows proficiency in using highly specialized and job-specific software
- c) Displays knowledge and understanding of the different stages of software development life cycle.

Brief History
The ECC is a government corporation. It is attached to the Department of Labor and Employment for policy coordination and guidance.
It is a quasi-judicial corporate entity created to implement the Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP). The ECP provides a package of benefits for public and private sector employees and their dependents in the event of work-connected contingencies such as sickness, injury, disability or death.
As implementor of the Employees Compensation Program, ECC is mandated by law to provide meaningful and appropriate compensation to workers. Its main functions are:
- To formulate policies and guidelines for the improvement of the employees’ compensation program;
- To review and decide on appeal all EC claims disapproved by the Systems; and
- To initiate policies and programs toward adequate occupational health and safety and accident prevention in the working environment
